A friend sent me this story this morning.. It demonstrates charity without degradation, and kindness without coddling.. I don’t know the source of the story, but here you are:
RED MARBLES
I was at the corner grocery store buying some early potatoes. I noticed a small boy, delicate of bone and feature, ragged but clean, hungrily apprising a basket of freshly picked green peas.
I paid for my potatoes but was also drawn to the display of fresh green peas. I am a pushover for creamed peas and new potatoes.
Pondering the peas, I couldn’t help overhearing the conversation between20Mr.. Miller (the store owner) and the ragged boy next to me.

Yes, Israel has the right to defend itself. This “defense” does not give Israel the right to obliterate a people. Preemptive War is NOT defense. It is offense.
SO MUCH HAS HAPPENED since I last posted.. Life has been coming at me at an amazing rate. At all of us, really. We have a POTUS elect, who is already leading even before he has been inaugurated. He’s erasing the artificial lines between parties and idealogies and extending his arms around all (not just reaching across the aisle..)
Bless Barak Obama and all of us as we move into healing and reconstruction of our: constitution; position in the world; environment; infrastructures; privacy and love for each other..
Someone please remind me to hang onto hope and humanity in this increasingly regimented world.

This is a must see Video.. just 5 minutes long, on what we might expect if McCain takes up residence in the White House. There are statements from General Wesley Clark (Democrat), Scott Ritter (weapons inspector), Pat Buchanan (Republican), Senator Thad Cochran Republican), and others
“The thought of his being president sends a cold chill down my spine. He is erratic. He is hotheaded. He loses his temper and he worries me.”
Senator Thad Cochran late January, 2008.
The link in the title is to an excellent diary on Daily Kos that is coupled with the following Video, on the other side of the flip:
